Over time on vitamin C and lysine, as the arteries become more pliable, blood pressure generally drops because the artery can expand. Blood pressure increases the more narrow the artery - and the more stiff.
Magnesium with ascorbic acid is probably a great idea.
Pauling explained that if you want to avoid kidney stones, keep urine pH neutral. If urine acidic, you can take some or all of your vitamin C as sodium ascorbate (or as ascorbic acid with bicarb). However, half the stones form in alkaline urine - so ascorbic acid would be best in that case. pH strips are inexpensive.
